Second Chance Fund
The Second Chance Fund was formed for the following special purposes:
•  Help to spay and neuter sheltered pets to encourage better behavior and increase their adoptability
•  Help sheltered pets receive further medical attention above and beyond our standard preventative care
•  Facilitate pet transfer programs by partially reimbursing expenses to animal rescue transporters
•  Aid in promoting adoptable, but hard to place, sheltered pets through a variety of advertising opportunities

Without the Second Chance Fund, many sheltered pets would be euthanized. Here are a few success stories, possible because of the Second Chance Fund…

Hope
Hope is a beautiful young lady who was found nearly frozen to death under a porch one January afternoon. She was cared for and nursed back to health thanks to our Second Chance Fund. A few months later Hope was adopted out to her forever home.

Wanda
Wanda came to our shelter with a broken leg. Thanks to your donations towards our Second Chance Fund we were able to get her to a vet where her leg was put into a cast. Wanda was adopted from our shelter in 2008.

Lucy
Lucky was in rough condition when he was brought to WCHS. We were able to get him the medical attention that he needed and adopt him out to a wonderful family. The Second Chance Fund helped to pay for the costs of his vet care.

We welcome your donation to assist us in the business of saving animals' lives. You may donate to the Second Chance Fund in three convenient ways:
•  Donate in-house at the shelter
•  Send a check or money order by mail
•  Donate via PayPal with your Credit/Debit Card, PayPal account or Bank account

Chip In
WCHS sometimes has special funding endeavors where it uses “Chip In” to monitor monies needed towards a specific animal for the given cause. When you see this type of reference on our site for any animal, please “Chip In” to help.

Buy-a-Brick
You can support the Wayne County Humane Society by purchasing an engraved paving brick which will be installed at the entrance to the shelter. When you Buy-a-Brick you are making a tax-deductible gift which will help bring happiness to the homeless, abused, and injured animals of our community while beautifying and adding character to the entrance of our facility.
