Donations or sponsorships towards the medical care or adoption of any of the Special Needs Animals can be made to the Wayne County Humane Society. Please note which animal you would like the funds to go towards.
Winnie is a five year old spayed pit mix who came to the Wayne County Humane Society on August 29th. She is a sweet and tolerant dog that loves everyone. Winnie walks well on the leash and shows signs of potty training. She doesn’t mind cats and would need a slow introduction to dogs. Winnie seems to experience separation anxiety, so we feel she might do best in a home where someone is with her most of the day.
Winnie came to us very overweight and had ear issues. The staff at Cleveland Road Animal Hospital fostered Winnie and provided complimentary care and treatment for her, what they call, bilateral ear canal stenosis. She received medication, laser therapy on her ears, and routine ear cleanings while in their care. She also has lost almost 20 pounds! Winnie’s adopters will need to be willing to clean her ears on a regular basis (every 1-2 weeks). We can teach you how to do this! You’ll want to get Winnie established with your own vet, as her ear issues may be chronic.
Winnie is back at the shelter and ready to find her forever home. Winnie needs a loving new family and a home she can call her own. Stop in and visit with this amazing girl. She could be the best friend you’ve been searching for!
